About Us
Centro Escolar La Recolección De Leon is an all girls school located in the center of Leon Nicaragua. Construction of the Recolección church (pictured above) started December 5, 1786. It was almost a century later, in 1880, when another building was constructed next to the church, which is the Recolección school.
The school has helped hundreds of thousands of girls over the years and the goal is to never have to turn anyone down. From little girls who have been orphaned, to those who are from poor families, and any other girl in Leon, the mission of the school is to take these girls from as early as age 3 and continue educating them until they have graduated high school.
The current number of students exceed 1,200 and even though many work hard to keep it going, it is simply not possible to operate it purely from the tuition money, as many can not even afford that. They are in need of so much, from computers, to uniforms, copiers, fax machines, and a whole lot more. Any amount of money that can be given, or supplies that they can use, would be greatly appreciated.
